We had a week off in November because of Thanksgiving and I went to Louisiana with my host family to see my host grandparents. We left Tuesday morning and we arrived there at 8pm. Myra's parent live in a city called Jennings that is not far from Lafayette.
Wednesday I hanged out with Tara, her cousin Mallory and Mallory's boyfriend Kendall and of their friend Sarah. We went shopping to Lafayette.
Thursday was the big day! We went to Myra's sister's house for Thanksgiving and we ate all day! It was delicious! During the afternoon, we drove Kendall's golf car and it was really nice. We came back to the house and stayed until midnight eating popcorn and watching movies.
Friday we drove to Baton Rouge to watch an LSU football game and it really was an exciting game! After that we came back to Jennings and went to a nice place to eat. It was really "country". Indeed everybody was dancing and the singer was speaking in Cajun (french dialect).
My host grandparent are really precious and we had a lot of fun. I hope I'll see them again before leaving. It was another american experience as an exchange student and I loved it.
"Exchange is nothing like you expected it to be, and everything you wanted it to be."
